B N Goswamy a noted Indian art historian and critic passed away on 17/11/2023 . A recipient of the Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan , his association with DCC began decades ago when he was involved with the project of revival of the Chamba Rumal in its nascent stage.
His article on the relation between rumals and miniature painting in the catalogue is noteworthy. We acknowledge his valuable contribution to our project and pay tribute to his memory.

It is with great sorrow that we inform you of the tragic demise of Shilp Guru Sardar Hussain due to covid.
He was a master craftperson (National Awardee) from Pilakhuwa, Uttar Pradesh and has also been awarded a number of other awards during his lifetime.
He was a fourth generation craftsman originally from Farrukhabad, who had mastered the intricate mughal technique of wood carving on blocks used for printing textiles. He successfully reinvented the craft by adding brass inlay and worked on a range of new products.
Assisted by his two sons, he established Sajawat Handicrafts in his hometown in Chhipiwara, Hapur District of Uttar Pradesh.
His association with Delhi Crafts Council is over three decades long. Our heartfelt condolences and prayers are with his family at this tragic moment.
