Instituted in 1986 by our founder, Kamaladevi Chattopadhya, the Puraskar is an annual scholarship, awarded to talented young craftsmen, to encourage them to continue in their traditional craft. The award instills in them a sense of pride and achievement. Seven of our awardees have gone on to be awarded the National Master Craftsman award for their excellence.
